This book is written by a doctor specialized about the human brain. The book, A Day in the Life of the Brain, talks about the different parts of the brain like the creative side and social side. It also talks about controlling and how to relieve stress. First, The book emphasizes on controlling and relieving stress and this whole processes of stress starts at the Amygdala and this is called the fight or flight syndrome. The feeling of being nervous is also part of the fight or flight response. The hormone Adrenaline enters the bloodstream and “ adrenaline is one of the best-known stress hormones, which quickly increases the heart rate and the breathing rate.” (Rodrigues 52). This information has been a huge help in my project because we see this response happens in books and we see it in real life.

The author who wrote this book has used other book written by doctors to get inspired and gain information. The book, You’ve Got Nerve!: The Secret of the Brain and Nerves, talks about all the different nerves and what part of the brain that causes you to use your senses. This book really shows how these different senses are triggered and the different nerves that sent that response. The cortex is what processes most of the information that enters the brain. This information is important for my project because I need to know a lot about the other parts of the brain to understand what i’m focusing on.
